# Troubleshooting Yardage Accuracy

## It is uncommon for your SkyTrak Launch Monitor to report inaccurate yard readings. If you believe your SkyTrak Launch Monitor is not reading your distances accurately, there are a few ways to improve the accuracy.

1\. Use a hitting mat meant for golf.

 

2\. Check the alignment of the SkyTrak Launch Monitor.

- Launch Monitor should be level with hitting mat.
- Confirm that your Launch Monitor is not tilted by checking the [alignment of your SkyTrak Launch Monitor](https://resources.skytrakgolf.com/tips-to-properly-align-your-skytrak-device?hsLang=en).

 

3\. Check the lighting in the hitting area.

- The area should be well lit.
- Check no lights are shining directly into the SkyTrak Launch Monitor camera.

 

4\. If you are using a tee, make sure the tee is not white. 

 

5\. Verify all settings for Skytrak are correct.

- Go to the drive range and click on the hamburger menu

- Select Session Settings
