Troubleshooting: Fitness Golf with SkyTrak Installation and Setup

This article details the activation, installation and setup process for Fitness Golf Integration with SkyTrak.

Note: Some users have reported problems using Fitness Golf while their SkyTrak Launch Monitor is in Network Mode. For this reason, we strongly suggest using Fitness Golf in either Direct or USB Mode.

Requirements

Golf Only Mode

Fitness Golf and Fitness Only Modes:

  • All items in Golf Only Mode list.
  • USB Ant+ stick.
  • Garmin Foot Pod.
  • Bike Speed Sensor.
  • Treadmill or other stationary walking fitness device (if walking is desired mode of exercise).

The required equipment for game modes that include fitness will change based on which exercise you would like to use for that portion of the game. Ant+ stick is ubiquitous to all types of exercise. If wanting to walk/run exclusively, purchase only the Garmin Foot Pod. For biking exclusively, purchase only the Bike Speed Sensor. Links to required equipment will be included in the purchase confirmation email.

1. Transfer License files to SkyTrak unit.

  • With the SkyTrak Launch Monitor turned off, open the SkyTrak desktop app while connected to the internet.
  • Click the profile menu in the top right corner and wait until you see "Data Synced" on the bottom of the screen.
  • Turn your SkyTrak Launch Monitor on and connect to the app. License files will be written to your unit at this time.

2. Connect and Configure Fitness Devices (skip this section if you plan to use Golf Only mode exclusively).

  • Insert the USB Ant+ stick into any of your PC's USB ports. Make sure your PC has an internet connection at this time. This needs to be within 10 feet of your fitness device. It is best if it has direct line of sight to your fitness device. You may purchase an additional male-to-female USB extension cord if your PC must be more than 10 feet away from your device.
  • The Garmin Foot Pod will connect directly to your shoelaces as shown:
    • If you are using the bike sensor, only the speed magnet needs to be attached to a bike spoke. The cadence sensor will not be used. If you are using a stationary bike with no wheel spokes, you may attach the sensor to any spinning part of the device using adhesives.

3. Install Fitness Golf PC Software

  • Use the link provided in the welcome email from SkyTrak to download the Fitness Golf desktop app.
  • Extract the "Courses 1" folder included in the download. This will be located in your downloads folder in File Explorer. Select "Browse" and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Fitness Golf\Courses, then press "Select Folder" and "Extract". Repeat this step for the "Courses 2" folder. There should be 168 Courses in the destination folder when completed.

  • Navigate to (C) >Program Files (X86) > Fitness Golf within File Explorer.
  • Right click a blank space in this folder and select "Paste", you now have a selection of 160 courses to choose from.

4. Open the Fitness Golf Desktop App.

  • Exit any simulator programs currently open including the SkyTrak app.
  • Make sure your SkyTrak Launch Monitor is turned on and double-click the desktop shortcut for Fitness Golf created during installation.
  • Select "SkyTrak Connect" near the bottom left corner of the screen.

  • Click "Refresh" until the SkyTrak Launch Monitor becomes visible as an option, this might take several repetitions to happen.
  • Once the SkyTrak Launch Monitor appears, select it and click "Connect".

The SkyTrak red dot should now be displayed on your hitting mat.
