# Tips about the Battery life of your SkyTrak Launch Monitor

## In this article we will talk about everything you need to know about how to take care of your SkyTrak Launch Monitor Battery and how to make the most of it.

 

- The unit has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last for up to 5 hours of use. Use the included micro USB Or USB-C charging cable to charge the Launch Monitor between hitting sessions.
- It is highly recommended to charge the battery for at least 6 hours before your first use.
- Running your battery to a fully drained state can reduce its lifespan. Try to avoid this as much as you can.
- When your SkyTrak Launch Monitor battery is charging the bottom light will turn yellow ![](https://hf-files-oregon.s3.amazonaws.com/hdpgolftec_kb_attachments/2022/09-26/e40625fb-7fea-48cf-99f2-98d7ab449067/image-20220926090542-1.png).
- The battery life will display on your SkyTrak application in the upper right-hand corner.
- You can also leave your SkyTrak Launch Monitor plugged into a Windows PC to avoid any issues with the battery.
- Fully charge your SkyTrak Launch Monitor before storing it for more than 90 days.
- Fully charge your SkyTrak Launch Monitor before using if it has been in storage longer than 90 days.
- If your device will not power, please leave the SkyTrak plugged in for 1-2 hours to try and jump start the battery. Please reach out to support if you can not get you SkyTrak to turn on.
