Direct Mode Not Connecting (Windows)
If you're having trouble connecting in Direct Mode on a Windows PC, please follow the below steps to troubleshoot.
1. Unable to connect to STPLUS/STMAX WiFi network
In most cases, when you get a message that says "Unable to connect to this Network" the network password is being entered incorrectly.
STPLUS = skytrakplus (no space, no "C" in "skytrak")
STMAX = skytrakmax (no space, no "C" in"skytrak")
2. Application says "Discovering" while connected to the STPLUS/SKYTRAK/STMAX network
-Check for and disable any present VPN adapters
Some antivirus software may impede device sync on the SkyTrak application. Norton and McAfee are two commonly reported examples. If this program came pre-installed on your PC and you do not plan to utilize the service, you may simply uninstall this application. If you do plan to use these services, please reach out to the Antivirus support team to create a firewall rule for the SkyTrak application.
If you are using an Ethernet connection in addition to your WiFi adapter, you may need to disable "Priority and VLAN" in your Ethernet adapter's settings.
- Open the Run command dialog by pressing Windows Key + R.
- Type
ncpa.cpland press Enter to open Network Connections. - Right-click your active Ethernet adapter and select Properties.
- Click the Configure... button located just above the connection icons.
- Switch to the Advanced tab at the top of the window.
- Scroll down the Property list and select Packet Priority & VLAN.
- Change the Value drop-down menu to Disabled.
- Click OK to save your settings
